Data can be extracted from the EPROM by decoding the
address at the address pins and connected to the output buffers. This
programming procedure in EPROM is reversible electrically. Ultra-violet light
is used to cause ionization within the oxide, which allows the stored charge to
dissipate and the memory is also deleted.

EEPROM are economical as a part of small volume
production. They are used by microcontroller such as Intel, PIC etc.
